    Update 11/10/2020 My screen died, I've sold my yacht so no motivation to continue to work on this project. I have uploaded the SketchUp files so feel free to use for your own projects and /or remakes. I note that its much easier to use a Moitessier HAT than the MPU and GPS below plus you get AIS receive and a couple of other seo, if you are interested in the marine plotter component of this project see Update 08/09/19 I have pretty well finished the design of the fit veion of the chart plotter and am currently printing just the electronics layout to eure perfect placement. The electronics I am mounting in the design include. I am yet to get all of those components working in the device so its possible the IMU or GPS will be replaced with other hardware. This is to facilitate the cotruction of a marine chart plotter using openplotter open source raspberry pi software. I had this screen lying around and I could only find one other case 3d model online but I wanted to build something more rugged. I have cotructed it with future IP rating in mind, the idea is that you could place an o-ring or silicon gasket between the main enclosure and bezel to seal the unit which would hopefully make it impermeable to unexpected splash or limited rain. Its designed to be printed without supports, I would recommend ABS for durability, UV resistance and the potential for vapour smoothing, further improving its resistance to the elements but you can really print it with whatever you want to suit you expected usage. You will need some m3 nuts and bolts for cotruction. 20 x M3x20 bolts 20 x m3 nuts The modified box will require some support, I set overhang to 80% and minimum support area to 25mm2 to prevent it filling all of the nut spaces.
