A case designed for the SKR1.1, SKR1.3 and SKR1.4 boards (tested with SKR1.4, but othe should have same geometry), two MOSFET modules, a stepdown module and a 120mm or 80mm fan! NOTE: The "Nightmare Rarity" text on the lid is the logo of my printer. I have decided not to include this logo in the final STLs, but you can easily re-enable it or use something of your own itead in Blender. UPDATE 2020-06-15: Added Walls_3030.stl, a new wall section compatible with a 30x30 alu profile. I sadly don't have one to try it out, so hopefully it can fit. UPDATE 2020-05-05: Added Lid_80mm.stl and Grill_80mm.stl, these are a lid and grill for an 80mm fan. Renamed to Lid_120mm.stl and to Grill_120mm.stl to reflect that these are for a 120mm fan. Features Mountable on any aluminium extrusion printer frame using regular M5*10 screws (for itance, on an AM8). Plenty of room iide for the SKR1.1, SKR1.3 or SKR 1.4 board including stepper drive. USB is plugged iide of the case and depending on your connector may be firmly pushed agait the SKR to achieve a good permanent connection. Can fit two MOSFET modules. Can fit a single stepdown module for powering the fan. Designed for a 120mm fan. Many zip tie ancho iide for wire management. Highly directed air flow, specifically for cooling the motor drive and the MOSFETs. Designed out of multiple parts for easier access (removable back). Required Components 1x BigTreeTech SKR 1.1, SKR 1.3 or SKR 1.4 Board with Drive - Obvious. Link (ent) 0-2x MOSFET Module - These can be fitted on the bottom of the case for an added security layer to your printer. Link () 1x Step Down Module - Used to power the fan. Link () 1x 120mm Fan OR 80mm Fan - For cooling the components. 120mm Fan Link () 5x M5 Aluminium Profile Mounting - Used for mounting to an aluminium frame. 10x M3x10 screw, counteunk - Required to connect the back plate to the walls. 1x M3x10, button head - Used to secure the lid to the case. 4x M4x30, counteunk - For mounting the fan. 1x M3 nut, hex shaped - Ierted into the walls section to help secure the lid. 6-14x 2.5mm 12mm long wood screw, counteunk - These are used for mounting the electronics iide. Four are used per MOSFET. Nx Zip ties - You may need plenty to secure the wiring. Optional 2x Rubber feet - Added to the wall section to help with the lid fitting. Link () Parts To Print: Depending on which fan you want to itall, print the Lid_120mm.stl and Grill_120mm.stl for a 120mm fan, or Lid_80mm.stl and Grill_80mm.stl for an 80mm fan. If you have normal 2020 or 2040 alu profile, print the normal . If you have 3030 alu profile, print the Walls_3030.stl. Print everything else normally. Printing Itructio The parts don't need any supports. Print all parts exactly as already oriented to maximize quality, strength and ease of printing. You may use 20% infill for all parts. You may print all parts at 0.2mm layer height. 0.3mm will probably work just fine too (I haven't tried though). Assembly Itructio Print out all of the parts. Use 10 M3x10 counteunk screws to secure the to . Mount this assembly on your printer's frame using five M5 aluminium profile mounting screws and nuts. Two of the holes are iide the case. Mount all of the electronics into the case using 2.5mm 12mm long wood screws. Wire all of the components. Some things to coider: You may use the round holes on top and bottom of the case as openings for wiring. Use zip ties and tie them to the ancho on the case walls for better wire management. Try to keep the wiring and clean as possible for a better air flow (check second photo). Iert an M3 hex nut into the provided slot for it in the section. Optional: Apply the rubber feet to the two corne on the section. This will help the lid fit better and not vibrate around. Assemble the lid. Use four M4x30 counteunk screws for mounting the fan. The fan is mounted on the side which faces the hotbed during printing. The assembly should be: Grill_120mm.stl or Grill_80mm.stl -> Fan -> Lid_120mm.stl or Lid_80mm.stl Thread the fan wiring through the small hole on the lid. Connect the fan to the Step Down module in the main case. Screw in the M3x10 button head screw into the opening on the lid. Once everything is wired, power it on and adjust the fan speed on the Step Down. There is no need to have it on blast. Press the lid agait the walls (pay attention to the notches on the right of the lid!) and screw it in. I hope you enjoy and if you have any questio or found some issues, be sure to comment! I will see what I can do! As usual, I have also included the Blender file in case you want to edit it further.
