Project Statement: I made this specific design in order to help the matter of disorganized and overcrowded backpacks. Since doing classes in a virtual setting and completing in-school classes without the availability of a locker, my locker has become somewhat of a disaster. My goal was that by creating the attached design, students would have a caddy for writing uteils (pencils, pe, etc.), small notepads, and pieces of paper (sticky notes), as well as a source for charging. My design features separate compartments of different sizes that are willing to accommodate the materials listed above. Plus, with a hole to run a charger through and a handle for easy removal, this product is easy and functional for everyone. Questio: What issues did you come up agait? While creating my design, one of the problems I came up with was sizing. Since nearly every student has a different backpack, the size varies from model to model. However, with just one model to create, I had to try to come up with a size that would meet the needs of the majority. Another issue I came up with occurred with the charger hole component. Although I made the hole large enough for charger cables to fit through, the varying sizes of charge might make it difficult to fit the end that plugs into the wall or into the compute phone. If you could redesign this again what would you change? If I could redesign the model, I’d include a definite way for the end of the charger to fit through the hole in the model. This way the charging component of my model would work with all electronic devices. How would 3D printing help strengthen your design? By 3D printing, I’d be able to establish a life-like model that for visual learne and interprete like me, would enable all to get a glimpse of what my design really does. In doing so, students would be able to use the design for their backpacks, which would in turn allow me to modify the design to meet the needs of more people.
