Introduction After using the awesome "Creality Ender 4 - CoreXY Conveion" by Greg191134 for a while, I wanted to test linear rails on my Ender-4. This is what I came up with. Benefits What I observed after finishing this build is, that I can increase the XY jerk setting in the firmware to 35mm easily without print quality degradation like has the benefit of printing really sharp corne and achieving fast prints on average. While designing this conveion, I made sure to achieve a good rigidiy of the printed parts by using model topology optimization and virtual stress testing, as can be seen in the following figure: Here you can see the printer in action: Here are some XYZ cube images, with the print outcomes from before the conveion on the left and after the linear rail vonveion on the right. To verify the circle printing quality, here is a circle print outcome image: Requirements This build assumes, that you already converted your Ender to "Creality Ender 4 - CoreXY Conveion". In detail the the motor brackets, the idler brackets and the 20 tooth belt pulleys are necessary for this build. For assembly you will need some 3 MGN12H 300mm linear rails link 12 m3x6 screws 2 m3x20 screws 10 m3x10 screws 4 m3x15 screws 4 m3x25 screws 2 m4x20 screws 4 m5x25 screws 4 zipties 5m GT2 belt E3D V6 hotend 5015 radial fan (optional) 8 m3 slot nut After you converted to linear rail, you can reuse the old x-axis extrusion profile for the belt driven dual z rmore you need following parts: 14 m5x10 2 GT2 30 tooth beltwheels link 1 closed GT2 belts 784-392T link 2 T8 Leadsrews 350mm link 1 GT2 pulley 16 tooth link 2 608ZZ skateboard bearings 14 m5 slot nut 370mm long 30x20x30x2mm aluminum profile, which is mounted unter the bed to take the front lead screw nut. If somebody wants to design a printed alternative, I will link it here in the future.
