If you purchase a laser cutteengraver from ebay, aliexpress, etc... they often come with a honeycomb platform. Cutting with your material direclty on this platform can result in flashback or flares and burnt spots on the bottom. They also don't really provide adequate registration for repeatability. These pi with corner guides can hold most firm materials up off the grill and also give you a set location to place blanks if you are repeating the same object multiple times. They are designed to be adjustable within the spacing of most honeycomb grids.
